Professor Bożena Hoła is employed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Wrocław University of Technology. She completed her MA studies in 1976. In January 1987, she defended her doctoral dissertation with honors. In 2008, she was appointed the head of the Department of Technology and Management in Construction. In March 2009, she obtained a postdoctoral degree in technical sciences in the discipline of construction. In October 2019, the President of the Republic of Poland continued her academic title as professor.
Scientific interests concern the issues of safety and health protection in construction processes (modeling of accidents in construction, analysis of the causes of accidents at work in construction, improvement of the methodology of accidents assessment, analysis the near-misses incidents) and issues in the area of organization of construction processes (modeling construction processes of a deterministic and deterministic nature). probabilistic, the use of artificial intelligence methods in solving decision-making problems in construction, construction waste management, assessment of the quality of construction works).
The scientific achievements include over 160 publications, including 3 monographs on modeling construction processes and work safety in construction, and articles published in journals in the Journal Citation Reports database. She has reviewed many articles published in journals from the JCR list, such as: Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Automation in Construction, Journal of Safety Research, Journal of Safety Science, Applied Sciences, Sustainability, Buildings, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Sensors, Symmetry, Journal of Civil Engineering and Management, Archives of Civil Engineering,.
Professor Bożena Hoła was the Project Manager of the research project "Knowledge management system in a construction company" financed by the National Science Center in Krakow, Competition 40, registration number N N506 125140 and head of the research team of the project financed by the National Center for Research and Development, as part of the Applied Research program (PBS), title "Model of risk assessment of construction disasters, accidents and hazardous events at workplaces with the use of construction scaffolding", reg. No. 244388.
She was awarded the medal of the National Education Commission, the medal of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians named after Aleksander Dyżewski for achievements in the field of scientific activity in the field of construction and the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland - the Gold Medal for Long Service.
She was awarded by the Minister of Construction and Building Materials Industry for her MA thesis and the Minister of Infrastructure for the monographs: "Random modeling of construction processes" and "Work safety in construction processes".
